Visually Impaired cyclist seeks Training partner

25 Jan 2018 by Aaron Twigg

Hi everyone

I have recently received a request from a Visually Impaired Cyclist named Andrew.

Andrew is legally blind but does have a level of sight that allows him to ride unassisted. He has been a runner for many years and currently looking for a training partner or partners to assist him with some training rides on the bike tracks to help build up his cycling fitness and ride distance. With the goal of completing the Otway classic 60km event on the 28thof April 2018

As a training partner you will need a good level of communication and understanding of bike track edict and the ability to assist with changing the occasional flat tire or minor bike adjustments as required.

All rides would start in Croydon where Andrew lives any other starting points would require him to be picked up and his bike transported to the start and home again. He is available to ride during the day Monday, Thursday, Friday and weekends and is flexible on start times. Any assistance would be really appreciated whether it was a weekly fortnightly or even a monthly ride.

I believe he has a riding partner for the Otway Classic. But he currently has no way of getting there.

If you are unable to assist with the training but are going to Ride the Otway classic and were able to provide a lift, there and back that also would be a wonderful way to assist Andrew in achieving this courageous goal.

If you are interested in assisting Andrew, please give Aaron a call for more information and we can put you in contact with him.

Kind Regards

Aaron
